I am an independent stained glass artist, shaped not by formal instruction but by a lifelong fascination with light, color, and the enduring traditions of handcrafted glass. My work follows the original Tiffany Copper Foil method, a process that transforms simple sheets of glass into pieces that capture and celebrate light itself.

Every window begins as an idea—often sketched by hand onto paper. I draw and refine each pattern before carefully cutting it apart and transferring the design onto glass. Each line becomes a guide, each shape a promise of what the finished piece may become.

Selecting the glass is one of the most inspiring parts of the journey. I choose each piece by instinct as much as intention—guided by texture, movement, translucence, and color. Often, the design comes first and the glass follows, as I search for the combinations that breathe life into the work. Even when creating multiple versions of the same design, no two are ever truly alike. The glass itself always has a voice, and I listen.

Once selected, each piece is carefully scored and broken by hand before being meticulously ground to its exact shape. This stage demands patience and precision. The refined edges allow the pieces to fit together seamlessly while creating the perfect surface for the copper foil that follows.

Each fragment of glass is then wrapped by hand in copper foil, a delicate metallic border that serves as the foundation for the solder. This centuries-old technique gives stained glass its signature character—the graceful lines that unite individual pieces into a single composition.

The soldering process is where the design truly begins to emerge. Flux is applied to encourage an even flow, and molten solder is carefully guided along every seam, creating the raised lines and sculpted texture that define traditional stained glass craftsmanship.

After both sides are soldered, the panel is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for its final transformation. Patina is applied to deepen and enrich the solder lines, adding depth and character. My favorite remains the timeless elegance of classic black, which beautifully frames the colors within.

The final chapter is the frame. Each piece is completed with a custom-fitted wooden frame, handcrafted to complement the artwork it surrounds. It is a finishing touch that honors the entire creative journey—from the first pencil line to the final polished surface.

For me, stained glass is more than a craft. It is a conversation between light and color, tradition and imagination. Every window is made by hand, one piece at a time, carrying forward an art form that has captivated hearts for generations.
